Who We Are

At FBC, we know that students are more than tomorrows leaders, they are leaders today.

We have an active student ministry. We meet every week for a relevant Bible study, to have fun and to cultivate friendships. We also have activities almost every month and take several trips each year.

If you would like to "plug in" to the Underground, feel free to join us at any of the scheduled activities. If you have questions about our student ministry, our church, or an activity, please feel free to contact the church office.

The Underground

The Underground is the name of our student ministry, and also what we call our Wednesday night youth group meeting. Our meetings are open to all, and relevant to students. The purpose of the Underground is to help students PURSUE a growing, uncompromising, and contagious relationship with the God that loves them (love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind) and REVEAL that relationship through visible faith (love your neighbor as yourself) as we read about in Matthew 22:36-39. To get our announcements each week, whether adult or student, join our Chillicothe First Baptist Church Youth Group- Underground Facebook page. copy and paste: https://www.facebook.com/groups/120727052610/

Ways to connect

There are many opportunities to connect with our student ministry. We try to stay active and formative with our students. While we have a number of activities that are available for students to engage in, the mission of our student ministry is to develop disciples that will create disciples. God's word is first and foremost the standard by which we teach, and we will never apologize or waver from that. Our youth ministry is not perfect, but we strive to be more like Christ every day in word and deed. Come and check us out and get connected, we would love to have you.

  • Wednesday Night youth

Middle School Youth Group (7th-8th grade) is from 6:30 to 7:30.

High School Youth Group is from 7:30 to 8:30

We focus on God's word, spend time in worship and play some games to connect in fellowship.

  • Sunday School

Every Sunday morning we meet at 9:15 in the youth underground area and study God's word together.  These discussions and studies are led by Matt and Lisa Jones as well as Reid and Natalie Stephens Our study topics change every month or two, but the purpose is always to engage in discussion and hear from God's word.  Our goal is to meet together as an entire group to begin and then separate into Middle School and High School groups for discussion.

  • Small Groups

It is one of the core beliefs of our youth ministry that we must develop disciples who create disciples.  In our small groups we look to develop a deeper relationship with Christ through study, discussion, fellowship and prayer.  Through these small groups we hope to develop a connection that allows us to disciple each student individually if possible.  We have Middle School (7th and 8th grade) small groups from 5:30 - 7:30 and High School small groups from 6 - 8.  We try to meet every other weekend and you can find the schedule for these small groups on our youth calendar below.  We have a 6th grade girls small group that is from 5:30-7 on Sundays as well.

  • youth choir

We believe that service is an integral part of the discipleship. Here at FBC Chillicothe we try to provide some avenues for the students to serve the LORD; one way to do it is through music. We welcome any students who wants to use their musical gift for the glory of God to come on the second and fourth Sunday at 4:00 pm for Youth Choir.

Youth Camp

Each summer we take our youth to camp.  To go to camp with us the student must be active in our Wednesday night youth ministry and complete 24 hours of service.  We are planning to go back to Passion Camp in Daytona Beach, Florida in 2016.  The dates for this camp will be July 17th - 23rd.  More information will be given at a later date.

Mission Trip

Each summer we want to take our students on a mission trip that is separate from our camp trip and focusing solely on serving others. In the Summer of 2015 we took nearly 40 students and adults from 3 different churches to Galveston, Texas. We look forward to giving our students a chance to serve in an environment that takes them out of their comfort zone. We keep the cost down for these trips so that as many students as possible can attend.

In the Summer of 2016 God led us to serve in Denver, CO. 66 people, 4 churches, 5 ministry teams, connected with 12 different ministries over 5 days. Always out of our comfort zone; never outside of God's protection.

Thanks for all the resources that were provided and the prayers that went before us and throughout the week.
